Social / Mounting Behaviour — Milking Stock
Repeated Mounting During Communal Exercise
During supervised communal exercise, MB-2147 repeatedly attempted to mount MB-2091 despite verbal and physical redirection by handling staff. Behaviour ceased following separation. Neither bull displayed injury or sustained distress.
Both stock remained collection-compliant during the following scheduled production period.
Behaviour did not look primarily reproductive. 2147 showed no comparable response to collection-room stimuli before or after the incident.
My impression is social and probably dominance-related. He has been challenging 2091 around feeding position and doorway access for several days. Recommend keeping them in visual contact but separating them during exercise until the hierarchy settles.
I do not think an endocrine adjustment is warranted at this stage.
2147 is pushy, not amorous. He does the same thing with the gate.
Assessment: Handler interpretation accepted. Continue observation. Do not modify hormone schedule unless mounting becomes repetitive across partners, causes injury or interferes with collection compliance.
Case status: Closed — monitor at routine weekly review.
